Terms
Every commission is written individually. These terms sit behind that proposal, not in front of it.
The agreement
A commission begins when you accept a written proposal from Lohuis Signature. That proposal — vehicle, chauffeur, timings and cost — governs the work. Where it differs from these terms, the proposal prevails.
Rates and payment
Rates are quoted per commission and exclude VAT unless stated. Waiting time beyond the agreed allowance, additional stops, tolls and parking are charged at cost. Invoices are payable within fourteen days; retainers are invoiced monthly in advance.
Changes and cancellation
Timings may be moved at no cost wherever we can absorb them. Transfers cancelled within twenty-four hours of the agreed pick-up, and multi-day commissions cancelled within seven days of departure, are charged in full unless we agree otherwise. Third-party bookings made on your behalf follow that supplier's own terms.
Vehicles and chauffeurs
We reserve the right to substitute a vehicle of equal or better standard where necessary. Chauffeurs observe traffic law, driving-hours rules and their own judgement on road and weather conditions; those judgements are final. Smoking is not permitted in our vehicles.
Your own vehicle
Where we drive a car you own, it must be roadworthy, taxed and insured for a third-party driver. Please tell us of any condition, modification or handling matter before the day.
Concierge arrangements
Where we reserve accommodation, tables, tickets or access on your behalf, we act as your agent. The contract is between you and that house, and its own terms, deposits and cancellation windows apply in addition to ours. Sums we pay out on your behalf are recharged at cost; a handling fee, where one applies, is stated in the proposal.
Journeys
A journey is written for one party and priced as a whole. Routes are reconnoitred and alternatives held in reserve; we may re-cut a day for weather, closure, road conditions or safety without that being a change to the commission. Where a journey depends on third-party suppliers, their performance is theirs — we will always press your case, but we do not underwrite it. Journeys cancelled within seven days of departure are charged in full, and any non-refundable sums already committed on your behalf remain payable.
Liability
We carry the insurance required for passenger transport in the Netherlands. We are not liable for delay or loss caused by matters outside our control — traffic, weather, closures, industrial action or the acts of third parties. Personal effects remain your responsibility. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury or intent.
Governing law
Dutch law applies. Should something go wrong, tell us first — most matters are settled by conversation. Failing that, disputes fall to the competent court in Amsterdam.
